SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — A special investigative unit has completed its report on the February death of an unarmed Mexican man who was shot by police in the central Washington city of Pasco.

The report was presented to the county prosecutor Thursday, but the contents weren't released.

Franklin County Prosecutor Shawn Sant says his office will interview the more than 80 witnesses identified in the report and decide whether criminal charges against any police officers are warranted.

The unit, made up of investigators from area police agencies, was asked to investigate the death of 35-year-old Antonio Zambrano-Montes. He was fatally shot at a busy intersection on Feb. 10 after he threw rocks at cars and police.

The orchard worker's shooting sparked weeks of protests.
