U.S. Senate overwhelmingly passes African trade bill

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Legislation to extend duty-free access to the United States for African countries and other developing nations passed the U.S. Senate on Thursday.

The Senate voted 97-1 to extend trade preferences as part of a package of trade legislation.
