KIEV (Reuters) - A Ukrainian serviceman has been killed and 14 others wounded as pro-Russian separatists significantly increased attacks on government forces despite a ceasefire, a spokesman for the Ukrainian military said on Tuesday.

The death was the fourth in four successive days for Ukraine's armed forces in a conflict with rebels whom Kiev says are armed and supported by Russia.

"In the past 24 hours the resistance (from separatists) has significantly increased and the terrain has widened," military spokesman Oleksander Motuzyanyk told journalists, noting that the rebels were using large-caliber weapons and grad rocket systems in violation of a February ceasefire.
