DENVER (AP) — The Colorado Republican Party has invited a gay GOP group that was barred from setting up a table at the Western Conservative Summit to share its booth.
The Denver Post reports (http://goo.gl/06887P ) party Chairman Steve House announced the decision Thursday, the day after the Log Cabin Republicans were snubbed by summit organizers. Summit chairman John Andrews, president of the Centennial Institute, said Wednesday his group had returned a $250 registration fee the Log Cabin Republicans had sent for a booth. He said that because the group advocates for gay marriage, it cannot have an official presence at an event that promotes traditional family structure.
He said Thursday he's fine with the group sharing table space.
The summit, which draws some of nation's best known conservatives, will be held in Denver from June 26-28.
