NEW YORK (Reuters) - Police were investigating a suspicious package found on Monday on the campus of Hamilton College in upstate New York, the school said on its website.
Students and faculty were asked to "shelter in place" by staying inside, locking doors, drawing curtains and staying away from windows until police bomb technicians could investigate, said the website posting.
It said the suspicious package was found in the Kirner-Johnson building, which houses a number of social science departments at the private liberal arts school in Clinton, New York.
The Kirkland Police Department was on the scene, a dispatcher said.
