WASHINGTON (AP) — Hillary Rodham Clinton is joking that her relationship with the media has been "complicated" as she pays tribute to the legacy of a late New York Times reporter.
The potential Democratic presidential candidate says she is all about "new beginnings. A new grandchild. Another new hairstyle. A new email account. A new relationship with the press."
Clinton says when she was asked to speak at the event, she thought, "What could possibly go wrong?"
The former secretary of state spoke Monday at an awards ceremony honoring Robin Toner, the first woman to serve as national political correspondent for The Times.
She says the country relies on journalists to "try to get us out of the echo chambers we all inhabit."
