Greek prime minister rules out third bailout

ATHENS, Greece (AP) — Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras says Greece will not ask for a third bailout, and that the issue of how his country will repay its oversized debt is still on the table in talks with European creditors.

Addressing a Cabinet meeting Friday after Greece was granted a four-month extension to its existing loan agreement, Tsipras briefed his ministers on last week's deal and outlined legislation he intends to bring to parliament.

The left-wing government was elected last month on promises of cancelling the austerity measures that accompanied Greece's 240 billion euro rescue loans from other eurozone countries and the International Monetary Fund.

Tsipras said the first bill his government will submit to parliament will include granting free power and food to thousands of families and starting a housing program with subsidies.
