NEW YORK (Reuters) - Exxon Mobil's refinery in Torrance, California was cited for eight "serious" violations following a state inspection that concluded in November, state regulators said Thursday.
An explosion at the refinery Wednesday left four people with minor injuries.
The planned inspections by the Cal/OSHA ran from May until November, resulting in eight serious violations and 17 general violations, according to state officials.
A serious violation is one that could result in serious injury or death, state officials said.
