MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian prosecutors demanded a Moscow court hand down a 10-year jail sentence to opposition figure Alexei Navalny in an appeal of the suspended sentence he was given in a theft case, news agency RIA reported.

"We demand that Navalny be sentenced to 10 years in jail," RIA quoted a prosecutor as saying at the court appeal. Navalny has called the case politically motivated.
