PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A former Marine suspected of killing his ex-wife and five of her relatives left an ax, a machete and two medicine bottles at the scene of his apparent suicide in woods near his suburban Philadelphia home.
Bradley Stone's body was found Tuesday. The killing rampage followed a long-running custody battle over his two children. The victims were all shot, stabbed or slashed.
An autopsy Wednesday ruled out the initial theory Stone died of self-inflicted stab wounds. Toxicology results will be done to determine how he died.
Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman says the ax and machete appear to have blood on them.
The Veterans Administration says Stone was being treated for post-traumatic stress but found no homicidal or suicidal ideation at a Dec. 8 psychiatry evaluation.
