KIEV (Reuters) - Three Ukrainian soldiers were killed and 8 wounded in attacks by pro-Russian separatists in the past 24 hours, a military spokesman said on Thursday, further marring a truce which began with a "Day of Silence" on Tuesday.

Military spokesman Andriy Lysenko said the army had registered 22 shelling attacks by separatists in the past 24 hours. He said this indicated that the first point of a peace plan, mapped out in the Belarussian capital Minsk in September, had not been fulfilled.
