LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles police have spoken to boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. about the murder-suicide of rapper Earl Warren Hayes and his wife but details aren't being released.
A Police Department statement says detectives spoke with Mayweather on Wednesday but they're keeping the information confidential.
Mayweather was an acquaintance of 34-year-old Earl Warren Hayes. Police say Hayes shot his wife, 30-year-old Stephanie Elyse Moseley, and then took his own life in their Fairfax-neighborhood apartment on Monday.
Investigators had wanted to talk to Mayweather following media reports that he may have spoken to Hayes before the murder-suicide.
Police have said Hayes and Moseley were estranged but recently had tried to reconcile. They haven't released a motive for the killings.
Moseley, a dancer-actress, was in the VH1 show "Hit the Floor."
