WASHINGTON (AP) — Massachusetts Democratic Congressman Stephen Lynch says he has very low confidence in Secret Service Director Julia Pierson's ability to protect the White House.

Lynch says he wishes Pierson would protect the White House the way she is protecting her reputation as she testifies on Capitol Hill about the Sept. 19 security breach when an Army veteran jumped the White House fence and made it well into the White House.

Pierson testified before the House Oversight and Government Reform committee and said the Secret Service showed restraint when it didn't shoot Omar J. Gonzalez. But she also said security wasn't properly executed the day of the breach. She said she is conducting a review.
