ATLANTA (AP) — Georgia Democratic Senate hopeful Michelle Nunn is aggressively countering attacks from her Republican rival David Perdue who is suggesting that she and former President George H.W. Bush's foundation financially supported terrorism.

In a new statewide television ad, Nunn speaks directly into the camera and calls Perdue's accusation a "terrible lie." And she cites statements from Points of Light Chairman Neil Bush calling Perdue's attack "shameful."

Two ads approved by Perdue are based on partial quotes from a Nunn campaign strategy memo. But the section quoted actually predicts Republican attacks based on the foundation's activities.

At issue is a Points of Light business management of contributions from eBay buyers and sellers to thousands of charities around the world.
