CHICAGO (Reuters) - Chicago's O'Hare International Airport's Terminal 1 was evacuated on Wednesday and some United Airlines flights delayed as the police bomb squad looked into an unattended bag, the city's aviation department and local media reports said.
The bag was found at about 9:30 a.m. CDT (1430 GMT), the aviation department said. CLTV news station reported the entire terminal was closed.
United Airlines said in a statement that it was "closely monitoring the situation" and encouraged customers traveling out of O'Hare to check their flight status and allow extra time for security screening.
O'Hare is the second busiest airport in the United States, for passenger traffic.
