GENEVA (Reuters) - Switzerland reached the final of the Davis Cup after Roger Federer gave the hosts an unassailable 3-1 lead over Italy by beating Fabio Fognini 6-2 6-3 7-6 (4) on Sunday.
Federer was rarely troubled by Fognini at Geneva's Palexpo Arena and won in just under two hours.
Switzerland will meet France in the final after they eased past holders Czech Republic at Roland Garros.
Australian Open champion Stanislas Wawrinka meets Simone Bolelli in the fifth rubber later on Sunday.
