WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday revived a challenge by conservative groups to an Ohio law that imposes penalties for making knowingly false statements about political candidates.

The court ruled on a 9-0 vote that the lawsuit could go ahead even though state election officials had not said whether they would pursue an enforcement action against the groups.
