Senate roll vote on minimum wage

WASHINGTON (AP) — The 54-42 roll call Wednesday by which the Senate rejected a bill to raise the federal minimum wage. Supporters of the bill needed 60 votes under Senate rules to prevail, they got only 54.

A "yes" vote is a vote in support of the bill.

Voting yes were 51 Democrats, 1 Republican and 2 independents.

Voting no were 1 Democrat and 41 Republicans.
