DALLAS (Reuters) - A section of downtown Dallas near many major businesses was shut to traffic and buildings were placed on lockdown on Tuesday after a man with a gun barricaded himself into an apartment, police said.
One shot has been fired by the man, thought to be in his mid-40s and facing eviction. No injuries have been reported, police said.
The apartment is in an area known as Victory Park and about 400 yards (meters) south of the American Airlines Center where the Dallas Mavericks of the NBA and the Dallas Stars of the NHL play.
Police have set up barricades and said they have placed the Perot Museum, the Dallas World Aquarium and a local high school on lockdown.
