NKorea accuses US of hurting relations with South

UNITED NATIONS (AP) — North Korea is accusing the United States of undermining the prospect of improved relations with South Korea.

The North also accuses the US of reviving six-party talks on its nuclear program by refusing to halt military drills with the South that include nuclear-armed B52 bombers and submarines.

Pyongyang's deputy U.N. ambassador Ri Tong Il warn Monday that North Korea's nuclear weapons are not "a bargaining chip" and said as long as the U.S. continues "nuclear blackmails," Pyongyang will continue to take "additional measures."

He told reporters that while the international community welcomed February's high-level talks between North Korea and South Korea that led to a revival of family reunions the United States, they "intentionally increased and aggravated tension on the Korean peninsula."
