(Reuters) - Republican David Jolly squeaked out a narrow victory in a closely watched special election for Florida's 13th Congressional District, defeating Democrat Alex Sink in the contest for the west coast seat, according to official results.

Jolly will fill the seat held for more than 40 years by his former boss, U.S. Representative C.W. Bill Young, a Republican who died in October.
