Judge strikes down Texas gay marriage ban as unconstitutional

(Reuters) - A federal judge on Wednesday struck down a Texas ban on gay marriage, ruling that it violates constitutional guarantees of equal protection and due process.

U.S. District Judge Orlando Garcia in San Antonio put the ruling on hold, pending appeal.
