(Reuters) - A fugitive serving time in a central Michigan prison for murdering four people was captured in Indiana on Monday, a day after he escaped from the facility during Sunday's Super Bowl, a corrections official said.

Police took Michael David Elliot into custody in LaPorte County, Indiana, after authorities said he kidnapped a woman and forced her to drive to the neighboring state, according to Michigan Department of Corrections spokesman Russ Marlan.
