The Obamas are at the church where they'll worship before today's inauguration ceremony.
On recent visits to St. John's Episcopal Church for Sunday worship, Obama has taken to ditching his motorcade in favor of strolling back to the White House through Lafayette Park with his family.
But not today. Walking back is probably not a good idea when there is so much on Obama's agenda for today. And given that it's Inauguration Day, the Secret service probably wouldn't allow him the pleasure of a stroll.
The park also is surrounded by tall, black metal gates and has become part of today's security infrastructure.
