BOGOTA, Colombia (AP) — Colombia's peace negotiating team will be led by former Vice President Humberto de la Calle and includes highly respected former police chief Oscar Naranjo.
The other top negotiators presented Wednesday by President Juan Manuel Santos are former military chief Jorge Enrique Mora, national security advisor Sergio Jaramillo, former peace commissioner Frank Pearl and Luis Carlos Villegas, president of Colombia's leading industry association.
Jaramillo and Pearl were on the team that negotiated the agreement signed in Havana on Aug. 27 to launch peace talks with the country's main leftist rebel group, the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia.
The talks to end the half-century-old conflict are to begin in early October in Oslo, Norway, then move to Cuba.
They were announced Tuesday by Santos and the rebels.
