Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton says Russia and other countries must ask themselves whether they'll stand with Syria's people or its dictator.
Clinton said efforts were continuing Wednesday to win U.N. Security Council approval of an Arab League resolution calling on Syrian President Bashar Assad to leave power. Russia opposes language that could lead to military intervention or regime change in Syria.
Clinton said it was important for the council to act.
Speaking a day after attending a U.N. session in New York, she said: "Every member of the council has to make a decision, whose side are you on? Are you on the side of the Syrian people ... or are you on the side of a brutal dictatorial regime?"
