White House says has confidence in NRC Chairman

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - William Daley, President Barack Obama's chief of staff, said on Monday the White House has confidence in the chairman of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission and other top officials, despite an embarrassing and internal fight at the safety agency.

"While there are tensions and disagreements among the commissioners, these management differences have not impaired the commission's ability to fulfill its mission," Daley said in a letter to Darrell Issa, the Republican chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.
