New Herman Cain Accusor to go Public in NYC Today

WASHINGTON – A woman who claims GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain sexually harassed her is coming forward today at a New York press conference with high-powered celebrity attorney Gloria Allred.

The woman would be the fourth to accuse Cain of misconduct.

According to the press release for today’s event, the woman alleges Cain sexually harassed her “when she sought his help with an employment issue when he was President of the National Restaurant Association.”

Two women at the National Restaurant Association accused Cain of inappropriate behavior and reportedly got cash settlements in the late 1990s, and a third employee who told the Associated Press Cain made sexually suggestive remarks and gestures at about the same time.

The woman speaking out today would be the first to accuse Cain on the record. Cain has denied ever harassing anyone, and said he faced a “witch hunt” by being confronted with anonymous accusations.

The press conference takes place this afternoon at the Friars Club.

Allred told the Hill newspaper last month there are “a lot of inconsistencies” in what Cain said, “and then he dragged out this old tired line about this being a witch hunt. I think it's extremely important to millions of people. It's a relevant issue, should he seek to be elected as president of the United States."

Cain said this weekend he won’t take any more questions on the subject of the accusations. He has continued to poll well among likely Republican primary voters since the scandal broke more than a week ago.
