Interior department to issue fracking rules in a few months

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Interior Department plans to issue a draft proposal requiring disclosure of chemicals used for hydraulic fracturing on public lands in a "couple of months," a department official said on Monday.

David Hayes, deputy secretary at the Interior Department, told a federal shale gas advisory panel that the department hoped to have the disclosure rules finalized about 12 months after being issued.
