House Democrats eye super committee tax options

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A long menu of potential tax reforms -- ranging from corporate jet depreciation to hedge fund manager pay -- will be presented to U.S. House of Representatives Democrats ahead of the first meeting of a "super committee" on cutting the deficit, according to staff documents obtained by Reuters on Wednesday.

The documents listed more than 20 possible steps to close tax loopholes that Democrats might take into negotiations intended to find at least $1.2 trillion in new budget savings over the next decade, aides said.
