Senate panel to try again to move trade deals

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus said he would make a second attempt on Thursday to start action on three long-delayed free trade deals and assistance for workers hurt by trade after a Republican boycott of committee action last week.

"It is past time to get this package moving. Right now, our competitors are gaining ground in these vital markets, and jobless Americans in need of opportunities are left waiting while these trade agreements languish," Baucus said in a statement Wednesday.
