House Republicans launch probe of Yucca decision

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Republicans on the House Energy and Commerce committee said on Thursday they will investigate decisions by the Obama administration and the nuclear regulator to stop work on a nuclear waste storage site in Nevada.

The committee sent a detailed list of questions to Energy Secretary Steven Chu and Nuclear Regulatory Commission Chairman Gregory Jaczko on Thursday, seeking more information about the decisions to shelve the Yucca Mountain storage site.
