U.S. still sees Libya handover in days

ABOARD AIR FORCE ONE (Reuters) - The United States still plans to transfer control of the military mission in Libya to an allied coalition in days with NATO playing a key role, a senior White House official said Wednesday.

A top aide to President Barack Obama, told reporters on Obama's flight home from El Salvador, "I think this is going to be a matter of days in which you see a movement toward the transition with regard to command and control."

He said allies were "working through the final issues on command and control" and NATO will play a key role but the exact structure is still under discussion.
