The latest poll in the Ohio governor's race has Republican John Kasich (KAY'-sik) and Democratic Gov. Ted Strickland running about even in the final days leading up to the Nov. 2 election.
The Columbus Dispatch reports Sunday that Kasich's 49-47 lead is less than the poll's margin of error of 2.3 percentage points.
Earlier polls showed Strickland trailing Kasich by double digits.
In the race for Ohio's open U.S. Senate seat, the newspaper's poll shows GOP candidate Rob Portman with a 16-point lead over Democrat Lee Fisher.
The Dispatch mail poll was conducted from Oct. 20 through Oct. 29. It was based on returns from 1,445 likely Ohio voters.
