Kaine: Democrats have a strong message for voters

Democratic Party chairman Tim Kaine says he believes the party is hitting the midterm elections in an "up cycle" and will do well on Nov. 2.

Kaine tells NBC's "Today" show "it's important for us to continue to talk to Democrats and the American public about the achievements of the current administration."

Asked about polls showing increasing numbers of voters think the American dream is no longer within their grasp, the former Virginia governor said, "We think, with the president out on the trail, we've got a real good case to make in the next couple of weeks." He acknowledged "it's a tough climate because the economy is hard," but said he's found that Democratic prospects have improved significantly in recent weeks.
