Obama to outline Afghan strategy at West Point

President Barack Obama's day will be dominated by his speech on Afghanistan this evening, but he does have other things on tap.

This afternoon he'll meet with Nobel laureates and their families in the Oval Office.

Later, Obama meets in the Oval Office with senior advisers. Then he and Vice President Joe Biden meet with Defense Secretary Robert Gates. The president and vice president will also meet with congressional leaders to talk about the administration's strategy in Afghanistan.

In the evening, the president travels to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., to deliver his speech on the expected Afghan troop buildup. The speech begins shortly after 8 p.m. Eastern time.
