Unless you're one of the favored few, here's what you won't be eating for dinner tonight: green curry prawns and caramelized salsify with smoked collard greens and coconut aged basmati. That's just part of the menu for Tuesday's state dinner at the White House in honor of the prime minister of India.

More of the lineup:

_Potato and eggplant salad, white house arugula with onion seed vinaigrette.

_Red lentil soup w fresh cheese

_Roasted potato dumplings with tomato chutney, chick peas and okra. Or the prawn dish.

For dessert: pumpkin pie tart, pear tatin, whipped cream and caramel sauce.

The White House brought in award-winning guest chef Marcus Samuelsson from New York to help prepare the meal.
