WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama has received a briefing about the Ebola outbreak in West Africa and has made clear to aides the urgency of reducing the number of cases to zero.

The White House says presidential advisers updated Obama on the situation and on steps to end the epidemic in Sierra Leone and Guinea.

Both countries, plus Liberia, have been among the hardest hit.

Sierra Leone and Liberia appear headed toward ending the epidemic. But Guinea is a wild card because Ebola remains entrenched there.
