WASHINGTON (AP) — The creator and star of the musical "Hamilton" will appear alongside two other creative forces of the Broadway smash at the National Archives Foundation's upcoming annual gala.

The Washington Post (http://wapo.st/1YtBYfM ) reports that Lin-Manuel Miranda will join director Thomas Kail and historian Ron Chernow, who wrote the biography that inspired the show, at the Sept. 25 event.

The black-tie charity gala raises money for the organization that supports the institution's mission.

Miranda, Kail and Chernow are to receive the Archives' Record of Achievement award, which recognizes those who use the Archives' records to spread awareness of U.S. history.

The hip-hop-flavored "Hamilton" has won 11 Tony Awards, including best musical.
