ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — The Salvador Dali Museum in Florida will host a major exhibit of more than 100 works by pop artist Andy Warhol in 2014.
The museum held a news conference Thursday to announce the exhibit's dates and details.
The show is called "Warhol: Art. Fame. Mortality." It will explore how Warhol learned from Dali's public visibility and celebrity status.
The exhibit will include about 35 of Warhol's paintings, plus 20 drawings, 50 photographs and a selection of films. The works are on loan from the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, Warhol's hometown. Warhol's silkscreened self-portrait in red and a vibrant blue silkscreen of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis will be among the works on display.
The exhibit will run from Jan. 18 until April 27, 2014.
