LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Shania Twain's OWN show, "Why Not? With Shania Twain" will premiere May 8, the network announced Thursday.
The hourlong debut will air at 11 p.m. ET, immediately following The Judds finale.
The docuseries will follow Twain as she revisits her childhood home in Timmins, Northern Ontario, Canada and deals with the loss of both her parents in a devastating car accident and the poverty of her childhood.
She'll also discuss the breakdown of her marriage after 14 years, and engagement to Frèdèric Thièbaud.
The series will chronicle her on a cross-country adventure with her bandmates and friends, meeting with vocal coaches and doctors to strengthen her voice.
She also has one-on-one conversations with experts in the music industry including Gladys Knight, Lionel Richie and David Foster, who provide guidance and inspiration as she attempts to reclaim her voice.
The series is produced by Gay Rosenthal Productions. Rosenthal, Bryn Freedman and Twain are the executive producers.
