The union representing Broadway theater cleaners has a tentative agreement with owners and producers on a new three-year contract.

The settlement was reached Thursday night after a marathon bargaining session.

Talks were between the local union for cleaners, porters and matrons, and the Broadway League. That's an industry group of theater owners and producers.

Hector Figueroa (fee-gehr-OH'-uh) is secretary-treasurer of the Service Employees International Union Local 32BJ. He says the new contract begins in 2010 and will include a 6.2 percent pay raise.

It will also include Broadway League contributions to the union pension fund and continued employer-paid family health care.

The contract covers about 240 workers in more than 30 Broadway theaters.
