President Barack Obama will pay a rare visit to Capitol Hill this afternoon to urge Senate Democrats to resolve their differences on health care reform.

He'll attend a Democratic caucus meeting at the request of lawmakers eager for him to step in and help move the legislation to a vote.

Later, Obama returns to the White House where he and first lady Michelle Obama will host a reception for this year's Kennedy Center honorees.

Recipients this year are film legends Mel Brooks and Robert De Niro; pianist and composer Dave Brubeck; opera singer Grace Bumbry; and singer and songwriter Bruce Springsteen.

In the evening, the president and first lady will attend the 32nd annual Kennedy Center Honors at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
