ConocoPhillips and Fairpoint rise; Dominion falls

NEW YORK (AP) — Stocks that moved substantially or traded heavily on Monday:

ConocoPhillips, up 76 cents to $48.88

Energy companies climbed as the price of oil reached its highest level in more than a year.

Nvidia Corp., up $3.43 to $91.88

Technology stocks, which have struggled since the presidential election a month ago, recovered some ground Monday.

Fairpoint Communications Inc., up $1.85 to $18.85

The telecommunications company agreed to be bought by Consolidated Communications in a deal valued at $1.5 billion.

Kite Pharma Inc., up $2.86 to $53.62

The drug developer reported encouraging results from early clinical studies of a leukemia treatment.

Energy Transfer Partners LP, down 59 cents to $33.79

The Army Corps of Engineers denied a permit for the Dakota Access oil pipeline Energy Transfer Partners wants to build in North Dakota.

Dominion Resources Inc., down 30 cents to $73.48

Utility companies, which are often compared to bonds, lagged the market.

Chesapeake Energy Corp., up 25 cents to $7.48

The natural gas company said it will sell assets in northern Louisiana for $450 million.

Wabco Holdings Inc., up $4.83 to $107.19

The maker of technology and control systems for commercial vehicles said it will buy back up to $600 million in stock.
