RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — Rio de Janeiro's city hall has adopted a transportation app to try and help visitors get around the Olympic venues.

Rio does not have a public transportation information system, which will affect Olympic ticket-holders who have a short time to move between venues.

City hall says on Tuesday it has contracted TRAFI, which says it has a million active users mainly in Eastern Europe and Turkey, to provide real-time data on timetables for buses, trams, the metro, and boats.

TRAFI says it will use a databank assembled by city hall and Rio's state government to monitor roads to all the areas of Olympic competitions.
