COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) — Danish brewer Carlsberg says its revenue dropped 3 percent in the first quarter partly due to costs associated with shifts in currency values.
Sales rose in Eastern Europe and Asia but declined in Western Europe. Total revenue was 13 billion kroner ($1.99 billion), down from 13.5 billion kroner in the same period last year.
The company didn't publish net income figures.
CEO Cees 't Hart said Carlsberg maintains its "full-year outlook for organic operating profit growth."
Carlsberg shares were down 3 percent at 617.50 kroner ($94.48) in midday trading in Copenhagen.
