An E. coli outbreak that began on the Northwest Coast has spread south and east to infect people in nine states including Oregon, Washington, California, Minnesota, New York, Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Maryland.

Here is a list of some of the larger E. coli outbreaks in recent years.
