NEW YORK (AP) — Sherwin-Williams named longtime insider John Morikis, as its ninth CEO Monday.
Morikis, 52, the paint company's chief operating officer, replaces Christopher Connor, who has been CEO for 16 years. Conner will retain the role of executive chairman.
Morikis has been president and COO since 2006 and has been with the company overall since 1984.
The top job at the Cleveland company has traditional been a stable one. The Sherwin-Williams Co. has had fewer than 10 CEOs since it was founded in 1866.
