GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, Ariz. (AP) — Two road construction projects begin this month at Grand Canyon National Park.
Park officials say replacement of paving in three lanes at the South Entrance will begin Sept. 21, with crews working on one lane at a time to minimize traffic delays.
Work on each lane will take a little over three weeks, and the South Entrance project is expected to be completed by late November.
The other project involves work at all 10 shuttle bus stops along Hermit Road. That project is expected to start Sept. 28 and be finished by mid-January, weather permitting.
Park officials say visitors and residents may experience short traffic delays during the work.
