DETROIT (AP) — Fiat Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne says he hopes to decide by the end of the summer whether Jeep Wrangler production will remain in Toledo, Ohio.

A new Wrangler is due out in 2017. Marchionne says he will try to keep it in Toledo.

FCA is trying to figure out how to retool the plant for the new Wrangler without halting production of the current model.

Marchionne says the Wrangler is so profitable that closing the plant for even 60 days would be a huge hit.

Marchionne caused panic in Ohio last year when he said production of the new Wrangler might move out of Toledo because of the cost of retooling the plant. The city has offered land and other incentives to get Jeep to stay.
